Identification
The longitudinal dark stripe on the forewing is broader than in any other in the Doryodes. Males have forewings 14.5–18 mm long; females 17.5–20 mm. Spring and summer specimens show yellowish white to buff forewings with gray streaking and white to whitish buff hindwings. Fall and winter specimens have darker forewings with more brown shading and hindwings variably suffused with brown, especially along the wing margin.
