Taxonus is placed in the tribe Allantini and forms the subtribe Taxonina, which is sister to the subtribe Allantina.

Distribution

Records indicate presence in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the United States (Vermont), China (Sichuan Province), and the Russian Far East.

Seasonality

One specimen of Taxonus zhangi was collected in July in Sichuan Province, China.
