Calopompilus validus is a of spider wasp in the Pompilidae. The Calopompilus was established to accommodate species previously placed in Chirodamus, though taxonomic relationships within Pompilidae remain under study. As with other pompilid wasps, this species is presumed to be a solitary hunter that provisions its nest with paralyzed spiders. The species was originally described by Cresson in 1867. Very few documented observations exist, with only 2 records in iNaturalist.
