Caladonus is a of leafhoppers in the Cicadellidae, Deltocephalinae, tribe Platymetopiini. The genus was established by Oman in 1949. As a member of the leafhopper family, in this genus are presumed to be phytophagous and possess the characteristic jumping hind legs and typical of Cicadellidae. The genus is part of the diverse Platymetopiini tribe, which contains numerous genera of small to medium-sized leafhoppers.
