Limonia communis is a of limoniid crane fly in the Limoniidae. It is currently recognized as a synonym of Geranomyia communis. The species has been recorded across North America from Alaska and British Columbia east to Newfoundland, and south to California, Louisiana, and Florida. As a member of the Limoniidae, it belongs to a diverse group of crane flies commonly found in moist terrestrial and semi-aquatic .
