Like other members of Chloropidae, it is a small dipteran in the Oscinellinae and tribe Botanobiini. The specific epithet 'pallidipes' refers to pale legs, a characteristic feature of this species. Very few observations of this species have been documented, with only a single iNaturalist record reported.
