Taxonomic Note

The Knausia was described by Henry Clinton Fall in 1931. The original description and type designation would be found in Fall's publication on North American Tenebrionidae. The extremely low number of documented observations suggests this genus is either genuinely rare, poorly sampled, or contains cryptic species that are seldom encountered.
