Megarthrus pictus is a rove beetle (Staphylinidae) to western North America. It is distinguished from other Nearctic Megarthrus by its bicolored and angulate temples. The body is predominantly brownish yellow in coloration. It is the only Nearctic species in its exhibiting this combination of traits that is endemic to Western North America.
