Native to Europe, Northern Asia (excluding China), and Iceland. Introduced and established in North America (Canada: AB, BC, MB, NB, NL, NT, NS, ON, QC, SK; USA: widespread including AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, IL, IN, IA, ME, MA, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TX, VT, WA, WI), New Zealand (including Chatham Islands), and Australia.
