Habitat
Heath and moorland up to 1,200 meters elevation, primarily on Ericaceae plants. Less preferred habitats include wet meadows, marshes, wastelands, and mixed forests. In the former USSR, has been observed on Salix , birches, Alnus, and Poaceae. Overwinters in coarse woody debris under pines and birches.

Europe (north beyond the Polar Circle, south to Northern Italy), European Russia, Siberia, Russian Far East, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, and Korea. Palearctic distribution.
