Coccinella hieroglyphica is a Palearctic lady beetle associated with heath and moorland , particularly on Ericaceae plants. It is distributed across northern Europe, extending beyond the Arctic Circle, through Russia and Siberia to East Asia. Habitat

Heath and moorland up to 1,200 meters elevation, primarily on Ericaceae plants. Less preferred habitats include wet meadows, marshes, wastelands, and mixed forests.
