Taxonomic history
The was established by Jan Bechyné in an unpublished monograph completed before his death in 1973. The work, titled 'Evaluación de los datos sobre los Phytophaga dañinos en Venezuela (Coleoptera)', was not published until October 1997. Some transfers from Colaspis to Zenocolaspis were indicated as early as 1968, before the formal genus description was available.
Species composition
Two are recognized: Zenocolaspis inconstans (with five : constituta, inconstans, lividipes, nicoletta, pusilla, semidistincta) and Zenocolaspis subtropica.
