Saxinis deserticola

Saxinis deserticola is a case-bearing leaf beetle in the Chrysomelidae, described by Moldenke in 1970. The occurs in arid and semi-arid regions of North America and Central America. Two are recognized: S. d. deserticola and S. d. mojavensis, both described in the same original publication. The species belongs to a characterized by larvae that construct protective cases from fecal material and plant debris.
