Acmaeops proteus is a long-horned beetle (Cerambycidae) in the Lepturinae. The occurs across North America, including Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Two subspecific varieties are recognized: the nominate form and A. p. durangoensis. beetles are known to be parasitized by the fungus farinosus.
