Essostrutha is a of longhorn in the Lamiinae, tribe Hemilophini. It contains two described : E. binotata (Bates, 1881) and E. laeta (Newman, 1840). The genus was established by Thomson in 1868. Members of this genus are characterized by features typical of the Hemilophini tribe, which includes many brightly colored or patterned species.
