Pelonomus obscurus is a of long-toed water beetle in the Dryopidae. It is distributed across the Caribbean Sea, Central America, and North America. The species was described by John Lawrence LeConte in 1852. Two are recognized: the nominate subspecies P. o. obscurus and P. o. gracilipes described by Chevrolat in 1864.
