Anodocheilus is a of small diving beetles in the Dytiscidae, tribe Bidessini. The genus contains approximately 20 described , with most described by Young in 1974 and several older species described in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Species are recorded from the Neotropical region, particularly Colombia. Like other Bidessini, these are likely small-bodied beetles adapted to aquatic .

Recorded from Colombia (departments of Arauca, Casanare, Chocó, and Meta). Additional have been described from Guatemala and other parts of the Neotropical region, including Brazil and Argentina based on original species descriptions.

Taxonomic history

The was established by Babington in 1841 with Anodocheilus maculatus as the type . A significant number of species (16 of approximately 20 total) were described by Young in 1974, suggesting either a major revision or previously unrecognized diversity. Several species were transferred from other genera, including Hydroporus exiguus Aubé, 1838 and Hydroporus germanus Sharp, 1882.
