Taxonomic Note
Bembidion postremum was described by Thomas Say in 1830. It should not be confused with Bembidion brownorum Maddison, Sproul & Will, 2023, a distinct named in honor of former California Governor Jerry Brown and his wife Anne Brown. Bembidion brownorum was rediscovered after 55 years and is characterized by its relatively large size (approximately 5 mm), green and gold metallic sheen, and unusually shaped prothorax.
