Synaptotanais is a of tanaidacean crustaceans in the Tanaididae, established by Sieg in 1980. The genus contains at least two described : Synaptotanais abyssorum, described from deep-sea in 1913, and Synaptotanais notabilis, described in 1981. As members of Tanaididae, these are small, benthic peracarid crustaceans.
