Habitat

Marine benthic environments spanning to abyssal and hadal depths. Specific occupy distinct : Munnidae occur in mud and sand flats, intertidal rock pools, seagrass meadows, sponges, and coral reefs; Nannoniscidae inhabit abyssal and hadal seafloor; Microparasellidae are in marine and subterranean continental waters.

Distribution

Global marine distribution. Documented from Atlantic Ocean (Puerto Rico Trench, 4,552–8,338 m), western Indian Ocean (Kuwaiti waters), Pacific Ocean, and southern Indian Ocean (Amsterdam Islands). Some previously considered restricted to specific ocean basins show wider ranges than previously known.
