Prokoenenia is a of microwhip scorpions (order Palpigradi) in the Prokoeneniidae, established by Carl Julius Bernhard Börner in 1901. The genus comprises six recognized distributed across tropical and subtropical regions of North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Members of this genus are among the smallest arachnids, inhabiting soil and leaf litter . As with all palpigrades, they possess a characteristic whip-like on the first pair of legs.
