Protolophus niger is a of harvestman (order Opiliones) in the Protolophidae. The species was described by Goodnight & Goodnight in 1942. It is known from western North America. Like other harvestmen, it belongs to the class Arachnida but is distinct from spiders in lacking venom glands and silk-producing structures.
