Entomobryoides purpurascens is a species of springtail in the family Entomobryidae, first described by Packard in 1872. It belongs to the order Entomobryomorpha, one of the major lineages of Collembola. Springtails in this family are characterized by their elongated bodies and well-developed furcula (springing organ). The species epithet 'purpurascens' suggests a purplish or purple-tinged coloration.
