Anillinus folkertsioides is a small ground beetle species described in 2020 from Jackson County, Alabama. It is a litter-dwelling species, distinguishing it from the sympatric cave-dwelling Anillinus clinei found in the same county. The species belongs to the tribe Anillini, a group of minute carabid beetles often associated with subterranean or forest floor habitats. Its discovery brought the known Anillinus fauna of Alabama to twelve species.

Lasiopogon tumulicola is a species of robber fly (Diptera: Asilidae) described in 2020 during a comprehensive taxonomic revision of the bivittatus section of the genus Lasiopogon. The species name 'tumulicola' (from Latin tumulus, mound or hill, and -cola, dweller) suggests an association with elevated or hummocky terrain. It is one of 13 new species described in this revision of western Nearctic Lasiopogon species, which was based on both molecular phylogenetic analysis and morphological examination.

Strumigenys superstes is a species of trap-jaw ant in the genus Strumigenys, described by Booher and Uhey in 2020. The species name 'superstes' is Latin for 'survivor,' referencing its persistence in a challenging environment. Like other members of its genus, this ant possesses specialized elongated mandibles capable of rapid closure to capture prey. The species belongs to the diverse myrmicine ant fauna, with the genus Strumigenys containing over 850 described species worldwide.
