Ophyiulus is a of julid millipedes comprising more than 30 described . Members of this genus have been recorded in Europe (Germany, Italy, Denmark) and introduced exist in south-eastern Australia, including Victoria. At least one species, Ophyiulus verruculiger, exhibits strong negative , actively avoiding light and seeking dark . The genus has been subject to limited ecological study, with most research focused on behavioral responses to light or detection in faunal surveys.
