Petridiobius is a of jumping bristletails (order ) in the Machilidae, established by Paclt in 1970. The genus contains at least two described : P. arcticus and P. canadensis. Like other archaeognathans, members of this genus represent primitive insects that retain ancestral traits such as the ability to arch their bodies and jump using abdominal appendages.

Taxonomic note

The is classified in the Petrobiinae within Machilidae. The two described were originally placed in other genera: P. arcticus was formerly in Machilis, and P. canadensis was described by Sturm in 2001.
