Distribution

Eastern and central North America from Ontario south to Florida and west to Wisconsin and Texas. Also recorded in Mexico, Honduras, Rica, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Introduced to the Galápagos Islands.

Diet

Larvae feed on Boehmeria (including Boehmeria cylindrica), Odontonema strictum, Pachystachys spicata, and Pachystachys coccinea.
