Vidius is a of skippers (Hesperiidae) described by Evans in 1955. The genus currently contains three recognized : Vidius felus, V. fraus, and the type species V. vidius. Several species formerly placed in Vidius have been transferred to other genera based on taxonomic revisions. Vidius belongs to the Hesperiinae, the grass skippers.

Taxonomic history

The has undergone significant revision. Evans (1955) originally described Vidius and placed multiple within it. Subsequent taxonomic work transferred six species to other genera: Moeris, Fidius, Psoralis, Nastra, and Rectava. These transfers reflect improved understanding of phylogenetic relationships within Hesperiinae.
