Identification

Distinguished from similar Chionodes by the specific pattern of pale cream-colored markings on dark fuscous forewings: the slender marginal streak from base to flexus, paired costal and spots, spot with preceding spot, and additional termen spots followed by black scales. The spot on the fold at its middle is also diagnostic.

Appearance

Small with wingspan approximately 9 mm. Forewings dark fuscous with slender pale cream-colored streak running from base along margin to flexus. Small costal spot at commencement of cilia preceded by larger spot, both pale cream-colored. Minute pale cream-colored spot on at about middle of wing, preceded by another at apex, with additional spots along termen followed by black scales. Similar pale spot on fold at about its middle. Hindwings pale greyish cinereous.
