Macrophya flavicoxae is a of in the Tenthredinidae. It is recorded from eastern Canada, with observations in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec. The species epithet 'flavicoxae' refers to yellow , a characteristic leg segment coloration. Like other members of Macrophya, it is a herbivorous sawfly with larvae that feed on plant material. The Macrophya is one of the larger sawfly genera in North America.
