Apophua is a of in the Ichneumonidae, Banchinae. The genus was established by Claude Morley in 1913 and has a distribution. At least eleven occur in Japan, including two recently described species, A. elegans and A. yamato. The genus includes species that parasitize lepidopteran , with A. simplicipes documented as a parasitoid of the oblique banded leafroller.
