Zarhopalus debarri was described from the southeastern United States as a primary parasitoid of the loblolly pine mealybug, Oracella acuta. The genus is represented in the UCR Encyrtidae collection by multiple species including Z. corvinus, Z. inquisitor, Z. putophilus, and Z. sheldoni.
