Nerthra is a of true bugs in the Gelastocoridae, commonly known as toad bugs. The genus contains at least 90 described and is the type genus of the Nerthrinae. Species occur across tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, with documented records from the Caribbean, South America, and Southeast Asia. A fossil species, †Nerthra bichelata, has been described from Burmese amber dating to the Cenomanian.

Documented from Bonaire and Curaçao in the Caribbean; Brazil (Paraná, Pará); Suriname; and Indonesia (Sulawesi). A fossil is known from Burmese amber in Myanmar.

Taxonomic notes

Nerthra lurida Todd, 1959 has been synonymized with Nerthra occidua Todd, 1959. A new , N. papaceki, was described in 2024 from Bonaire and Curaçao.

Fossil record

The extinct †Nerthra bichelata Poinar and Brown 2016 is known from Burmese amber of Cenomanian age.
