3Neocoelidiinae is a of leafhoppers (Cicadellidae) to the New World, with highest diversity in the Neotropical region. The subfamily contains approximately 200 valid across 36 arranged in two tribes: Neocoelidiini and Krocodonini. Members are distinguished by exceptionally long and distinctive . Many species exhibit vibrant coloration. The group was originally classified within Coelidiinae but is now recognized as a separate subfamily.

Identification
Distinguished from other Cicadellidae by the combination of very long and distinctive shape. Within the subfamily, can be separated by male genitalia characters: Coelana has an inflated pygofer longer than subgenital plates with a large hook and long lateral ; Tozzita have characteristic pygofer dentiform processes, subgenital plate macrosetae, and structure; Coelidiana species show crown pattern with orange stripes, subgenital plates, and distinctive aedeagus with ventral atrial process.

Habitat
Diverse across the New World tropics and subtropics. have been collected from trees, including Schinus terebinthifolia. Amazon Rainforest habitats documented for some Brazilian species.
Distribution
to the New World. Most diverse in the Neotropical region. Present in Central and South America, with some in the Nearctic region ( Neocoelidia). Documented from Brazil (states of Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Acre, Amazonas, Mato Grosso), and other Neotropical localities.
