Members of Teruliini can be distinguished from other Coelidiinae tribes by the combination of morphological characters used in the tribal-level keys provided by Nielson and subsequent authors. The tribe contains diverse that vary substantially in body form and genitalic structure; identification to genus requires use of the revised keys to genera published in taxonomic revisions. -level identification within genera such as Docalidia (174+ species), Stalolidia, and Perulidia requires detailed examination of male genitalia and other subtle morphological features as presented in published keys.
