Orbelliini

Orbelliini is a small tribe of flies within the family Heleomyzidae, subfamily Heleomyzinae. These flies belong to the order Diptera and are part of the diverse assemblage of heleomyzid flies associated with decaying organic matter. The tribe was established to accommodate certain genera within Heleomyzinae that share derived morphological characteristics. Like other heleomyzids, members of this tribe are generally small to medium-sized flies with ecological ties to decomposing substrates.
