A small of minute flies in the Anthomyzidae, established by Roháček in 2009. The genus comprises four main groups with distinct biogeographic origins: two groups (A. barbarista and A. setiplanta) hypothesized to have originated in East Asia, and two groups (A. duplex and A. socculata) originating in the Nearctic Region. The Nearctic fauna includes five recently described species and one Palearctic species newly recorded from Alaska.
