Identification

Members of this lack a crossvein separating the and the second basal of the wing. The fronto-orbital setae are absent, and the is bare from base to end of the subcostal . The occiput is very prominent with postvertical bristles. The four tibiae bear small bristles. Some possess a finger-shaped projection on the costal vein, a diagnostic feature for species-level identification.
