Chaetochlorops is a small of frit flies ( Chloropidae) to the New World. The genus contains at least three described and is distinguished by the peculiar of the male terminalia. It has been recorded from Brazil's Amazon and Atlantic forests as well as Nicaragua. The genus was established by Malloch in 1914.
