Metadioctria is a small of robber flies ( Asilidae) established by Wilcox and Martin in 1941. The genus contains at least three described : M. parvula, M. resplendens, and M. rubida. Like other robber flies, members of this genus are predatory insects. The genus is placed in the Dasypogoninae.

Taxonomic history

The was erected by Wilcox and Martin in 1941 to accommodate previously placed in other genera. The type species is Metadioctria resplendens (Loew, 1872), originally described as Dasypogon resplendens.

Included species

Three are currently recognized: Metadioctria parvula (Coquillett, 1893), Metadioctria resplendens (Loew, 1872), and Metadioctria rubida (Coquillett, 1893).
