Tarpela is a of darkling beetles in the Tenebrionidae, established by Bates in 1870. The genus contains approximately five described distributed across Asia and North America. Species include T. formosana and T. zoltani from Taiwan, T. micans from Europe and Asia, and T. undulata and T. venusta from North America.
