Phaleromela is a of darkling beetles ( Tenebrionidae) described by Edmund Reitter in 1916. The genus contains primarily distributed in arid and semi-arid regions. Members of this genus are ground-dwelling beetles adapted to dry environments. The genus is recognized within the large and diverse family Tenebrionidae, which contains over 20,000 described species worldwide.
