Taxonomic History

The Hadrotes was erected by Mannerheim in 1852. Three are currently recognized: Hadrotes crassus Mannerheim, Hadrotes extensus LeConte (1861), and Hadrotes wakefieldi Cameron (1945). The genus is classified within the subtribe Staphylinina of the tribe Staphylinini.
