Siagonium americanum is a of flat rove beetle in the Staphylinidae. It occurs in North America with records from Canada (Ontario) and multiple U.S. states across the eastern and central regions. The species was first described by F.E. Melsheimer in 1844 under the basionym Prognatha americana. As a member of the Piestinae, it shares the characteristic flattened body form typical of this group.
