Lordithon niger is a rove beetle (Staphylinidae: Mycetoporinae) in the Lordithon, originally described by Gravenhorst in 1802. A lectotype was designated by Campbell (1982) in his taxonomic revision of North and Central American Lordithon. The is broadly distributed across eastern North America.

Taxonomic history

Originally described by Gravenhorst in 1802. Campbell (1982) designated a lectotype for this in his revision of the Lordithon for North and Central America.
