Identification
Members of Trichiorhyssemus can be distinguished from the closely related Neotrichiorhyssemus by a combination of morphological characters, though at least one (T. immaturus) exhibits intermediate features between these two genera. The genus is placed in the subtribe Rhyssemina within the tribe Psammodiini.
