Phloeophagus is a of true weevils (Curculionidae) established by C.J. Schoenherr in 1838. The genus contains more than 30 described . Species in this genus are found in northern Europe, with records from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. As with other curculionid weevils, members possess the characteristic elongated snout (rostrum) with mouthparts at the tip.
