Taxonomic composition

The tribe comprises at least two : Brachycorynus (established 1998) and Piesocorynus (established 1834). The 2022 Zootaxa paper by Kania and Mermudes reviews additional Neotropical genera historically associated with this tribe.

Research history

The tribe was established by Valentine in 1960. Recent taxonomic work (Kania & Mermudes 2022) has provided keys to and described new within associated genera.
