Soronia is a of sap-feeding beetles in the Nitidulidae, containing approximately 14 described . These beetles are associated with fermenting plant materials and are part of the diverse Nitidulinae . Larvae of the Soronia complex have been described from New Zealand, indicating at least some species occur in the Southern Hemisphere.
