Heterhelus abdominalis

Heterhelus abdominalis is a small in the Kateretidae, a group of sap beetles related to Nitidulidae. The was described by Erichson in 1843 and occurs in eastern North America. Like other kateretids, it is associated with fungi and decaying plant matter. Records indicate presence in Canada from Manitoba eastward through Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick.
