Synetocephalus is a of skeletonizing leaf beetles in the Chrysomelidae, containing approximately 10 described . The genus was established by Fall in 1910 and is restricted to North America. Species in this genus are small leaf-feeding beetles that skeletonize plant foliage. One species, Synetocephalus penrosei, was described in 2012 from California and named in honor of the coleopterist Richard L. Penrose.
